Valentine's For Our Veterans

For Valentine's Day, the Pasco Juniors gathered at a member's home to create hand made Valentine's Day Cards for the 80 Veterans at the Baldomero Lopez Veterans Nursing home in Land O'lakes. In addition to these valentine's sharing our member's gratitude for their service, the members properly created 350 Stars For Our Troops. Each Star is places in a small plastic bag to protect it and share a simple message:

"I am part of our American flag that has flown over the USA. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that YOU are not forgotten.”

These cards and stars were delivered on Valentine's Day to the Nursing home to share our love for those that have served and now reside in our community.

Our Members Gather For The Holidays

Each December our members enjoy our new board of directors installation and celebrate together with a social meeting. Since all our current members celebrate Christmas, we enjoy an ornament exchange. This year, the ladies had lots of fun stealing back their favorite ornaments to place on their trees at home!

The Pasco Juniors Inspire Hope With Metro Min

Through the past several years, the GFWC Pasco Juniors have made regular donations, physical and volunteering time, to Metropolitan Ministries. Although the main campus of outreach supporting those suffering from homelessness or on the verge of homelessness is in Tampa, there are several resources in Pasco County as well. Earlier this year the club donated 100 Blessing Bags for the MetroMin BrigAIDe to distribute necessities to those in need throughout Pasco County. At Christmas time, several of our volunteers donated their time at the Dade City "Holiday Tent" which distributes a full holiday meal and toys for families in need. Without volunteers like the Pasco Juniors, Metro Min would not be able to deliver such an amazing impact in our area. Thank you!

Creating Christmas Cheer for Children in Need

Each year, the Pasco Juniors take the proceeds from their annual Breakfast With Santa to sponsor several children off an Angel Tree at local Elementary Schools. This year we were able to support 4 children at Wesley Chapel Elementary School, spending over $125 on each for new clothing and toys to celebrate Christmas. Our ladies had fun shopping and making a difference in these children's lives.

In addition to our Angel Tree Shopping, the Pasco Juniors also made a $200 monetary donation to the Sean Bartell Memorial Foundation to support their efforts in our community. Found, Paul Bartell supports our efforts each year by volunteering to be our Santa for the fundraiser. Thank you!
